Welcome

What if we have accidentally disrupted the planet… AND THE MAGMA IS STILL MOVING?

Welcome to the world of Nicholas Jakari… Poet, actor, sometime economist: and travelling storyteller.

NJ’s work can be found also at: https://www.amazon.com/author/nicholasjakari

This site is the home of “The Jonker Memorandum”. [pronounced “Yonka”] a futuristic SciFi crime adventuere story. It is also a BLOG place. everything can be found under the headings. The DONATE button has been discontinued.

ON THE OTHER HAND: press PODCAST it goes to “THE JONKER MEMORANDUM” [JM] a ‘bedtime story’.

In 2007 i decided to read the world a bedtime story.  So  a story [in 70 episodes and 14 footnote episodes] about how the world ended: and what happened afterwards… The story traces the adventures of a group of people striving to enable the introduction of an idea that changes everything… against those who oppose such ideas… often without komprehension.

JM is a story about the ambiguity of memory….So… Once upon a time…

Back in ’98, I  was  searching out a mechanism for the kind of disruptive circumstance that would generate sufficiant shock, to enable the introduction of an idea, now being variously called “Universal Basic Income”, Freedom Dividend and the like [I called it ‘Basic Pay’… “Ours by Right”].

For reasons explained elsewhere i had a bad thought, following a series of ‘tit for tat’ “Nuke” tests, carried out between India [Grimdeer] and Pakistan [Grabbistan].

My Thought? [as you may already have noted]: “What if we have accidentally disrupted the planet… through introducing dischord to its internal rhythms… and the magma just keeps moving?” Like the coffee that keeps slopping for a while in the cup when it is moved abruptly.  I called this ‘disruption’ “The Ringing”. Events since 1998: a clutter of tsunamis, earthquakes, climate change and abnormal weather patterns seem to echo my bad thought… and then some….

This story is [i think] fictional  It is Part 3 of a series of tales set against the background of the [so-called] ‘Mzansian Revolution’[1994] in the southern part of Afrika, where i live. The series of tales are called kolektively: The Azanian Quartet. Parts 1 and 2 are respectively “The Buffalo Hunters” and the “The Ashanti Raider”.

The Ashanti Raider has been registered with the US library of Congress in 1998: and will be publiished when i get finished with the rest ie: Part 4. This is 98% komplete as at 11Th september 2019. [my 25th anniversary of being the subject of murder… Now made impossible to forget by the awful events of 9/11.]

The tale for which this site exists is: “The Jonker Memorandum”. Part three of the Azanian Quartet. Since more than a third of this story is set in a time about 120 years after a global catastrophe 14 episodes called footnotes exist to fill in some of the information you need to have to enjoy the future part of the tale.

Part one: a story originally self-published in 1996 is: The Bufflo Hunters. The story represents the 1994 Revolution in Mzansi … A metaphor for the “ending of the world”. ie:  It is a weekend… the lives of various unrelated persons intersect and have outcomes as they intersect with each other in a savage outpouring of murders, butchery, violence, rape and an occasional moment of bemused affection. It is a time described by a major character as one in which “There has never been a better time to commit murder.”

Twenty five years later i am beginning to realise that my story is also a metaphor for a klimate damaged world run by AI machines: a world where far too many  humans deemed to be superfluous, have lost both purpose and the capacity for order: and are are mostly ungovernable.

It is a brutal story about an emerging society still struggling to embrace the future. It sets the baseline for what must follow,  [parts2-4] if we intend the human race to survive what is already a century of discontent: as the full whirlwind of what we have unleashed across the planet over the past decade or so, wreaks its disruptive way.

The Buffalo Hunters is now available on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/author/nicholasjakari

  1. Haven’t had a chance to completely view the site nor listen but so far, it looks great. I’ll be watching closely.
    Kind regards Mr Msikinya.

    • Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and everything. But just imagine if you added some great visuals or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and clips, this site could certainly be one of the most beneficial in its field. Very good blog!

  2. I’m really glad I’ve found this info about nicholasjakari.com | dekonstruckting the multiverse. Nowadays, bloggers create content about gossip and it is really annoying. A great website with exciting content is what I need. Thanks for making this web-site, and I will be visiting again. It would be a great honor to have you visit my web-site. Thank you!

  3. Hi Nic,
hope you remember me from the German school.

    ould like to contact you.
Hope you are well, sorry excellent

    Best regards

    • Hi Manfred

thanks for the contact and yes i am still excellent albeit engulfed. Hope all is well with you back in the homeland: and that you enjoy following what is starting to become a curiously ‘prophetic’ tale. I recollect congenial evenings in warm snug pubs and tankards of beer. You may recollect many of the themes which i tended to explore exhaustively with all who could manage the time; picking up, as it were, the trend to the Transaction levy, the crisis caused by rape, all over the planet, not just here, and the possible emergence this week of a prospective [potential] “Korinth Starr” in our own Mzansi. Will she do what i predict in the story… would she have the courage… or does she turn out to be another rent collector? That’s what is so cool about fiction… people do things.

      Best wishes
      Nicholas

  4. I love what you guys tend to be up too. This sort of clever work and reporting! Keep up the terrific works guys I’ve incorporated you guys to my personal blogroll.

  5. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is required to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?

I’m not very web savvy so I’m not 100% positive. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

    • I do remember a Marilyn Dacey who worked with me in the Fire Dept of the long extinct Norwich Union [well around Mzansi anyway]… and have most congenial recollections of that person… Should you be she then greetings and may you enjoy this long and complex tale… who knows you may have had a micro part in its evolution.Good to know you are still ok [i hope][It did take a while for me to see this and so apologies for delay: naughty author: neglecting listeners.

  7. Hi Sir.

(if I am still in the midst of your memories) – How’s everything going?
I remember my bafflement when you first mentioned some of this Jonker…uhm…”stuff” in class. Can’t say I understood it then, and honestly I thought it was the result of too many hours of business lectures being met with blank gazes…
But I started reading some of it recently and it has to be said that it is thought-provoking at the least.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    • Greetings Mr Brown, I do seem to recollect that you were a lone person in a classroom filled with sometimes rowdy and always competitively demanding young ladies who sat at opposite sides of the classroom: sometimes sniping across the gap within which you dwelt. You were i recollect remarkable for ignoring it all and simply pursuing your purpose. Well done. Always happy to hear from past Learners and hope that like others you are figuring out the madness of it all, as you forge on with making a good life. Not all the appearances and ‘gazes’are blank or you would never all have ‘gotten’ through: would you? Glad you’re finding the material provokative. There is a growing current running along my route suggesting that the times that have changed are busy continuing to change… and i am having a great time rolling along with it. Be well and enjoy.

  8. Hi Sir its me Mr Miguel! I’ve just read your article and I must say, I don’t understand a thing! But it was nice reading! And that one comment is right! Get some pics or videos! See you on Monday! Kind regards! Sedler Awesome Miguel

  10. Some say that it takes a lifetime of reflecting to realize how immensely blessed we are. But after precisely 5 months out of high school I realized that having a man of your intellectual capacity as my teacher in school and life was a life-long blessing. Although it took me an eternity to figure out most pieces, I have to say that the work you display on your website is of tremendous quality, sir.. And I take a lot of pride in the fact that I can say that I had you as a mentor growing up. You sir definitely create a great influence in the lives of those who are privileged enough to witness the master in you and your writings and may you keep on stimulating both old and young minds for a long time.
    Greetings Mr. Willie,
    Elizandro Casteira

  11. Mr Williamson – I am amazed at your intellect and the extraordinary ideas and thoughts you continue to produce. It’s been years, infact 15 years since I last seen you and reaching out and connecting with you now was on just this, retrospectively looking at who truly inspired me as a student and who moulded my thinking as a young individual. The inspiration you instill in others to create greatness and to see life through a different lens has stuck with me. You were an inspiration to me as a student back in 2001 and you continue to inspire and motivate and I thank you for having pushed us to think beyond the ordinary! It’s been great connecting with you and keen to stay in touch.

  12. Hi their, sir. I am in your class and I just want to say that you are an exquisite inspiration. You have made the universe more explicit. The world would need an inspiring person like you in it to keep it in check

  13. Checking out your interesting and thought provoking blog. Honored to have met you this week and looking forward to your stories of intrigue!
