Welcome

What if we have accidentally shifted the planet… AND THE MAGMA IS STILL MOVING?

Welcome to the world of Nicholas Jakari… Poet, actor, sometime economist: and travelling storyteller.

This site will eventually be the home for all my work. For the present it is the home of “The Jonker Memorandum”. [pronounced "Yonka"]

The Jonker Memorandum is what i call a bedtime story. Since [where i live] few people seem to read anymore, i have decided that i shall read the world a bedtime story.

Back in ’98 i had a bad thought following a series of ‘tit for tat’ “Nuke” tests, carried out between India [Grimdeer] and Pakistan [Grabbistan]. My Thought? [as you may already have noted]: “What if we have accidentally shifted the planet… through disrupting its internal rhythms… and the magma just keeps moving?” I called this ‘disruption’ “The Ringing”. Events since 1998: a clutter of tsunamis, earthquakes, climate change and abnormal weather patterns seem to echo my bad thought.

The resulting story is thus Part 3 of a series of tales set against the background of the [so-called] ‘Mzansian Revolution’[1994] in the southern part of Afrika, where i live. Parts 1 and 2 are respectively “The Buffalo Hunters” and the “The Ashanti Raider”, both of which will become available in 2014 off this site in digital form… as will the text of the ‘Jonker’.

This tale: “The Jonker” involves a series of themes that relate to what is happening on our planet right now: the financial meltdown and gender violence amongst others, and, as part of the story, presents a series of arguments relevant to the following ideas:-…

What if women eventually rebel against an [apparently threatened] world of male dominance? What if there is a way to solve the world’s financial circumstances that involves a reinterpretation of the world as we now know it to be… as it becomes the world of the new ‘Knowledge economy’?

And what if all this is wrapped up inside a cool adventure story: “The Jonker Memorandum”.

And then: What if my story helps to change the [human] world into the better place it wishes to be?

Listen and decide for yourself … and understand that the story takes about 86 episodes from start to finish: and it would help to have a reasonably long attention span: because everything that happens is of relevance.

For new listeners: click on ‘Podcast’ to go to the “Jonker Memorandum” storypage. All episodes appear down a vertical line: you simply scroll on and on, from 1 to the end. There is no accompanying text, beyond a bald intro’ to the episode [episode 1 is the exception: see further ref to this]. At some stage in your listening pleasure, i would be pleased to receive a donation from you, the listener

Only a small contribution, for all this tale of intrigue and curiosity? Isn’t that unusual?

So: Thank you for listening and may this tale intrigue you as it has others.

  1. Haven’t had a chance to completely view the site nor listen but so far, it looks great. I’ll be watching closely.
    Kind regards Mr Msikinya.

    • Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and everything. But just imagine if you added some great visuals or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and clips, this site could certainly be one of the most beneficial in its field. Very good blog!

  2. I’m really glad I’ve found this info about nicholasjakari.com | dekonstruckting the multiverse. Nowadays, bloggers create content about gossip and it is really annoying. A great website with exciting content is what I need. Thanks for making this web-site, and I will be visiting again. It would be a great honor to have you visit my web-site. Thank you!

    • Hi Manfred

thanks for the contact and yes i am still excellent albeit engulfed. Hope all is well with you back in the homeland: and that you enjoy following what is starting to become a curiously ‘prophetic’ tale. I recollect congenial evenings in warm snug pubs and tankards of beer. You may recollect many of the themes which i tended to explore exhaustively with all who could manage the time; picking up, as it were, the trend to the Transaction levy, the crisis caused by rape, all over the planet, not just here, and the possible emergence this week of a prospective [potential] “Korinth Starr” in our own Mzansi. Will she do what i predict in the story… would she have the courage… or does she turn out to be another rent collector? That’s what is so cool about fiction… people do things.

      Best wishes
      Nicholas

  4. I love what you guys tend to be up too. This sort of clever work and reporting! Keep up the terrific works guys I’ve incorporated you guys to my personal blogroll.

  5. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is required to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?

I’m not very web savvy so I’m not 100% positive. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
